In the co-curriculum

Since highschool I've participated in community service programs. Some of these programs include Penpals with grade schoolers in Lawrence, TAing in Andover's daycare center, and teaching swimming to mentally challenged swimmers at the Burbank YMCA. I've created lasting and meaningful relationships in many of these programs. I taught a 6 year-old girl with downs syndrome at the YMCA. Watching her progress and learn to trust me was one of my favorite experiences in highschool.

In college I hold leadership positions on the UML swim club and the art student union. These positions require for me to take responsibility for other students, organize large groups of people, and manage money. Since both of these clubs have trips outside the university, other board members and I must make sure other students behave responsiblity.
