This article I wrote for The Connector was for The Killers' most recent album Wonderful Wonderful.

My audience for this article was the students at UMass Lowell, as well as the faculty. I knew I wanted my audience to be geared more toward students because The Killers is a popular band. I thought that writing this review was a great way to gain readership for The Connector. Students and faculty are the most likely candidates to be reading the newspaper. I thought by writing about music they might already know, it might peak their interest to read the rest of the newspaper.

It was very easy for me to write this review because of my knowledge of the band, as well as my experience writing album reviews. I also find it easier to write about topics or bands that I am passionate about.  I was able to apply the writing skills I learned throughout my four years at the university for this article. By now, I knew all the techniques to writing a successful album review such as only focusing on a few songs and writing in a more technical manner to avoid opinion.

The purpose of this article was to help showcase The Killers' musical talent as well as their diversity and to hopefully gain student readers.  I wanted to gain more readership for the newspaper by writing about a popular artist. This article made it onto the front page of The Connector and is why I consider it to be my best album review to date.
