Outside of the classroom, traveling and visiting different places has allowed me to experience culture and diversity in an entirely new way.
Some places I have been to and things I have seen within the last two years:
Washington Monument
Sky-Deck at the Willis (Formerly Sears) Tower, Chicago
Bunker Hill Monument Winter 2015
Above ground burial of John H. Ferguson, Judge in the landmark 1896 Plessy Ferguson case. St. Louis and Lafayette Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
Tombs are all above ground due to the high water table. Many films have shot scenes here including Interview With a Vampire and Easy Rider.

Jacques Lowe exhibit at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Lowe was one of JFK's personal photographers and took thousands of photos of the Kennedy Family before and during his presidency. Unfortunately, his work was stored in a vault in the World Trade Center and was lost when the towers fell. The negatives that were stored in a safe were eventually found and recovered amongst the ash and rubble. The photos discovered were featured in this amazing exhibit.
